Why it matters
The first baseman is the cutoff, and the throw from right has to reach that cutoff chest high. The catcher calls whether to cut the ball or let it go. Everyone else has to be quiet enough to hear it.
What the runners do
- Runner on 2nd. Rounds 3rd hard and scores from 2nd on the single.
- Batter. Single: rounds 1st and holds when the ball comes back in.
This is the baseball field. In the app a fastpitch softball team sees every play on its own field, with its own rules.
